Blast from the past

While I was uploading videos, I saw these, and it's a trip watching them. Jesus kids grow fast.

This is Nic, 2, when we lived in Salt Lake. Counting the stairs in our building.

And here's Norah, just shy of 2, when we were living at my parents house.

And since I just posted a video of him pacing, here is Nic pacing back when I was still pregnant with Norah, so he's 1. He's an oldschool pacer. (our camera was a POS back then, so it skips and is like 2 seconds long.)

Thanksgiving

This year, my grandma's boyfriend was invited to dinner. He is someone that she went to school with, and recently found again through facebook. Yes even my grandma has a facebook. Back in the 30's he built race cars, so that's his claim to fame, and also pretty much all he talks about. Anyway, as soon as he sat down to eat, my dad spilled a whole glass of cranberry juice in his lap. As the meal went on, topics of conversation included "what is that sound?" (which went on for a good 20 minutes before we realised that it was a hearing aid), race cars, and of course Norah's contribution, "do you remember when I learned to poop in the toilet?" Oh yes, Thanksgiving was great.

Nic

Yesterday was another turn in day for Nic's school. While he was with the rest of the kids doing Thanksgiving-y stuff, I talked to our supervising teacher. Apparently, last time we were there, the teachers were asking her if Nic was ADHD, because he is constantly moving, and kind of in his own world. I have always thought that's what it is, but he was diagnosed with autism - high functioning. I guess it fit at the time, but as he's grown, I just don't think that's what it is anymore.
Anyway, I spent a good hour and a 1/2 talking to the teacher and the special needs liaison about how to go about getting him re-evaluated by the school district. Since we are homeschooling, I didn't think we could do that. I guess he can still be evaluated, but not treated unless he is enrolled in school. I have to fill out a bunch of papers, and write a letter to the school board, but he will get re-evaluated. Then in January, the health network for our insurance changes, so I can take him to a not ghetto doctor, and have him re-evaluated again through them too. I am predicting that the diagnosis will be different than it was when he was 3.

A Month Already??!

Nolan is a month old today! This month went by so fast. I guess that tends to happen when you are super busy. And the waking up every few hours to nurse sort of makes the month feel like one giant day. But he is the sweetest baby in the world. Maybe it's because he's my 3rd, but he has been my easiest baby so far.
I had my PP appointment yesterday and got on their scale, and I am 2 lbs under where I started! I guess having babies is the new diet. ha But, I have to go back in 2 weeks because apparently I am still anemic. Boo.

After I got through with that, we all went to Knott's because it's veteran's month, which means cheap admission. There was practically no one there, so there were no lines. We were only there for 4 hours, and we went on everything. And we even spent about an hour at the photo studio, getting the kid's cowboy pictures done.

Liquid light and Halloween

Devin and my dad had their second show together this last week. I think everyone loved it. Devin did all of the liquids this time, and my dad just did the digital stuff. They don't have another show set up yet, but I know there are bands that want to work with them, they just have to actually schedule something. This band that they have been working with wants them to do the lights for a music video. I guess we'll see what happens with that.

Halloween was also this weekend! I love Halloween. It is my favorite holiday. This year we didn't really do anything super fun, because having a baby took most of our attention. BUT, we still had fun. Nic started feeling sick Halloween morning, and just got progressively worse throughout the day, and by bed time, Norah was feeling sick too. This morning, I woke up with a sore throat, so that sucks. We still went trick-or-treating last night though. We are lucky enough to live in a neighborhood that is really active, so it was lots of fun. We went through 8 bags of candy, and had to turn off the porch light by 8:30 because we ran out of candy.

Nolan slept almost the whole time.

This was before we left. We look happy, but I was sweating to death since it was in the upper 80's, Norah lost her shoes, Nic was acting like a zombie because of his cold... Devin and I were bickering at each other the whole time.

We had lots of fun, and got enough candy to last until next year.
